MY SPECIAL BIRTHDAY

I spent the morning in the company of greatness — the world’s cutest 2-, 3-, 6- & 8-year-old!

I spent time with the cutest IceCreamMan who transformed a kitchen sink into a car wash and microwaved the entire cast of the Cars movie. His best buddy is a guy by the name of Oupa who fed him pizza and chocolate. I suspect that Bob the Builder, Blippi and Bluey are all undercover agents of the IceCreamMan, but I was unable to confirm that detail. A little man who knows his way around the kitchen and around cars, and who loves to sneak cuddles on his own terms.

I was crowned queen by a specialist veterinarian who moonlights as a barista, chef, construction engineer and beautician. He stitched up the laceration on my cat, Mr Spinky, after he lost a fight with a puff adder, and then he diagnosed him with cat flu and feline diabetes. He also served me his signature dish — crumbed salmon with chocolate mousse and lemon sorbet. He had to toss out all of his tuna fish due to lead poisoning and when he put the IceCreamMan in charge of his coffee station, well…let’s just say…it didn’t work out as expected. Such a gentleman and quiet genius.

I met WonderWoman, SnowWhite, Supergirl, Cinderella and Elsa only to discover they were one and the same flawless beauty, a six-year-old with a delightful imagination. She loved my Princess Leia hairstyle and shared her beautician appointment with me. She is fearless and carried a puff adder around her neck. The reptile was paralyzed with fear of someone with a pet dragon, called Dizzy. She correctly identified my job as an author and suggested we have my next birthday party in space.

CherryCutiePie handed out free doughnuts and macaroons while singing Happy Birthday. Her kitchen was in a state of impeccable order and she served orange tea and lemon water to all of her callers. She loved hanging out in the beauty salon and playing model and sales lady in the car dealer’s showroom. Her pet Cheetah, Foofy, and dog, Yap, followed her everywhere she went. Only a select handful of patrons of her restaurant were treated to her speciality dish: mac and cheese, liberally sprinkled with rainbow fairy dust.

Thank you, my dearest beloved MicahMunchkin, EmmieBoo, AddiePie & AlexGweesi for a memorable birthday party. I love you more than I can ever say!

Thank you, Jack & Meg, for bringing little Isla Mae Poppy for the pic — her intoxicating smile warmed my heart!

❤️
