A THIEF IN FAIRYLAND

This fairytale comes from the imaginative mind of my brilliant granddaughter, Emily Hay.

It is a beautiful snowy day in Fairyland. The skies are white and the clouds are blue. There is great excitement about the fairy birthday party next month. That is when the funny llama brings his talking flower concert to town. But somebody stole the fairies’ glasses and they cannot see anything without it!

The queen and king of the fairies called all their fairy children together in the palace. They are safe there. Outside the palace gate, the cheetahs meet with the lions, because they are the police. They are angry and they want to catch the thief. The waterpeople come in their flying canoes. The forest trees told them about the fairies’ glasses and they want to help. The flying canoes block the bright sky and they call the firefly bug to bring light. He is covered in large dots which light up. But firefly bug’s light changer is broken and he can only shine yellow light.

Inside the palace, the queen’s cup bearer sees that the queen’s golden smart cup is missing. This is a walking, talking, thinking cup and nobody knows where it is. The court master opens up the gate for the police and helpers to come inside. They see how scared the blind fairies are. They also hear a noise coming from behind a secret door. When they open the door, the jeurr-jeurr* jumps out and yells I KNOW WHO THE THIEF IS! The jeurr-jeurr leads the police and helpers to the palace dungeon and they find the queen’s smart cup with all the glasses there. The glasses are returned to the fairies and the cup is thrown into jail.

At the fairy birthday party, everyone is happy. First, they all watch the funny llama’s talking flower concert and then they sing and dance all day and all night. The fairy king sent the mommy robot with everlasting power to fix firefly bug’s light. His dots now light up in ALL the rainbow colours.

* A jeurr-jeurr is an ionising air purifier, aptly named after the sound it produces.

Emily, I LOVE the idea of a walking, talking, thinking cup and a jeurr-jeurr. You are a born storyteller.
