Another fairytale from the creative mind of my brilliant five-year-old granddaughter, Emily Hay.
Once upon a time, there was a farm in a country far, far away…
Many farm animals lived happily on the farm, but they never received any guests to visit them. In a loud prayer one night, a little piglet asked if they could receive visitors as guests. The very next night, fairies came to the farm. The flew all the way there. The locked gate did not stop them, they could simply fly over it once they arrived. The next morning the farm animals woke up to sparkly stuff sleeping everywhere where the sunlight reached. Later the fairies also woke up and saw the big animals. They were the farm animals. The horses loved the fairies first. The fairies and the horses played together. The sheep joined and loved the fairies also. Then the cows joined and played with. Then the chickens joined and played with. In the end all of the animals played together. And then, in the late afternoon when they looked up to the sky, they saw five more fairies arrive. Clouds moved in and the farmer came out and saw the fairies. The farmer chased the fairies away and the animals were sad.
One of the fairies, the smallest one, was so scared of the farmer that she did not look where she was flying. Suddenly her wing got stuck in the fence and it tore. She fell down and hurt her back. The mommy fairy came over to the injured fairy and gave her a new pair of wings. The daddy fairy also came and helped to put the new wings on. The daddy was stronger so he could help much better than the mommy.
The fairies spoke to the farmer. They wanted to stay, because they loved the farm animals and played with them. The farmer agreed that the fairies could stay for 5 nights only. But at the end of the 5 nights, the farmer allowed the fairies to stay another 3 nights. After 8 nights a teeny tiny little chick arrived and the fairies saw her first. They were very excited about the chick. The mommy and daddy chicken ran over and were so relieved to find their baby. She was hidden in the hay and the blanket covered the hay. Then a new baby fairy was born and the farmer allowed the fairies to stay forever.
While all of them were sleeping one night, another animal came to the gate and he could open it. He was a cheetah and he was a wild animal. The next morning when all the animals woke up, they saw the cheetah, but they were not scared of him. They loved him because his heart was gentle and kind like that of a farm animal.
Months later, during a winter snow storm, a lost lion made its way to the farm and she was so cold and desperate to find a warm spot that she went right into horses’ shed. She snuggled up in the hay and fell asleep. The horses heard movement in the hay and upon investigation, they found a lion. They got a huge fright and went out to warn everyone else about the wild animal. The cheetah told everyone not to be scared of the lion, because her heart was gentle also. All the animals nursed the lion back to health and once she was healthy again, the cheetah asked her to marry him and she said YES.
All the animals shared in a beautiful wedding and the bridal couple stayed on the farm forever….the farmer never knew!
THE END

Emily, this really is a fantastic fairy tale! I wonder how long it took you to think it up. You must know that beautiful stories taste to bookworms like the yummiest pudding. I wonder what the yummiest pudding in the whole wide world is for you. That’s what your story tastes like to me, because I’m a bookworm who eats stories.
Dear Maretha, Emily is a natural story creator! She narrated the entire story within 40 minutes and it took us another 20 minutes to fine tune and round it off. Thank you for your beautiful comment! ❤️
